Marcos Ortega DDS in San Diego

Marcos Ortega DDS in San Diego Hello! I’m Dr. Marcos Ortega, DDS, of Marcos Ortega DDS in San Diego.

I have been practicing general and cosmetic dentistry since 1986. Dentistry is a challenging and fascinating profession; dentists must have diagnostic skills, dexterity, extensive scientific knowledge, and good visual memory. Dentistry also requires artistic ability. In addition to the technical aspects of dentistry, I really enjoy interacting with my San Diego dental patients.

I recognize that my clients have other choices in San Diego area dental practices, and I work continually to earn their trust and surpass their expectations.

Each Mission Hills, Mission Valley, and Hillcrest dentistry client is unique. Many of my patients come in twice-yearly for an exam and cleaning. We help them maintain excellent oral health. Some Bankers Hill cosmetic dentistry clients come to me seeking major restorative dental work. It is extremely gratifying to complete a smile makeover and see the client’s reaction when they see the result for the first time.

When I have a pre-treatment consultation with a new Hillcrest dentistry client, it is very informative for both of us. The patient learns the specifics about the possible procedures and I learn about the clients’ goals, concerns and expectations. Then I work with the client to develop a dental treatment plan that fits the patient’s needs, desired outcome and budget.

My dental practice is located at 306 Walnut Ave., Suite 25 in San Diego. If you are looking for an experienced dentist in the San Diego area, call 619-717-8459 to schedule a consultation.

I look forward to meeting with you.

San Diego Dental Implants and Dental Bridges

Tuesday, December 9th, 2008

When my San Diego patients ask me about tooth restoration, I usually tell them about fixed (or ‘traditional’) dental bridges or dental implants. A dental bridge is an artificial tooth which replaces a missing tooth. The false tooth (called a ‘pontic’) is fused to porcelain crowns on either side of the missing tooth.

Tooth replacement has been a highly requested procedure at my San Diego dental practice. Patients from the Mission Hills area and Hillcrest area have expressed concern about tooth replacement for many years. Most of my questions in these areas and the Mission Valley area have to do with the strength of the tooth replacement, and durability.

Dental implants are also popular concern for my San Diego tooth replacement patients. A dental implant consists of a titanium post surgically inserted into the jaw bone to replace the root of the missing tooth. The post integrates with the bone to provide a stable foundation for the replacement tooth.

After it has bonded with the bone (it usually takes three to six months), a smaller post is attached. This post extends above the gum line. The artificial tooth (crown) is then attached. The entire process takes several months, but consistently yields terrific results for San Diego dental implant patients. My California cosmetic dentistry patients appreciate the fact that I stay up to date on the latest advancements in tooth replacement procedures.

Both Callifornia smile restoration options preserve or restore facial contour and allow you to talk and eat normally. Tooth replacements prevent adjoining teeth from gradually shifting and can help correct bite problems, too. Tooth implants and dental bridges can replace one or more missing teeth. Many Bankers Hil area dental patients have been treated successfully with these tooth restoration alternatives.

Call Marcos Ortega DDS, Cosmetic & General Dentistry and ask for Dr. Marcos Ortega to schedule an evaluation for California tooth restoration. You can schedule your tooth restoration by calling us at 619-295-4545.
